The decision comes a week after Juno successfully fired its main engine. The second engine firing was slated for Tuesday but was delayed to Sept. 14.

After the last maneuver, engineers noticed higher-than-expected pressure in the propulsion system and wanted time to check it out.

The back-to-back burns are needed to put the spacecraft on course to fly by Earth next year and use the planet's gravity to accelerate to the outer solar system.

The space agency says the delay will not affect Juno's arrival at?Jupiter, scheduled for 2016.

Juno was launched last year. It's on a mission to peer through?Jupiter's?cloud cover and map its magnetic and gravity fields.

Getting to Know the Components of a Garage Door Opener and ...

Garage door openers help residents to open and close their garage at one push of a button. Hence, these devices offer security and convenience for anyone who has them installed in their garages. However, during power outages, garage door openers will not work, requiring you to run your garage door manually. Why does this occur? To understand the answer, you initially have to recognize the components of a garage door opener. These involve the chain or belt, the transmitter, and the motor. Garage door motors are usually located at the garage ceiling. The chain or belt extends from the motor and is connected to the garage door. The transmitter sends a signal to the motor to control the garage door.

Most garage door opener motors contain an internal safety system that works in a power failure. These systems can be reset by pressing a button just about the size of a pencil eraser found in the motor. If this doesn't work, or if your unit doesn't have this kind of button, try shutting off your circuit breaker then stand by a couple of minutes just before you switch it back on.

Garage door openers normally include a release lever. This lever releases the motor from the door, allowing you to open and close your garage door even throughout a power outage. Release levers usually have a piece of cord connected to them so you can reach them effortlessly. If your release lever won't move, talk to a Utah garage door specialist and have your garage door opener repaired.

If you've attempted resetting the internal systems and yet the garage door opener will not work, there may be something else amiss with it. Have an expert in garage doors Utah residents rely on examine it for you. If any sort of repair work or replacement be needed, have it done once possible for your very own convenience and protection.

If you dwell in the Wasatch Front, where 80 percent of Utah's whole populace resides, you're among the sixth most urbanized population in the United States. Hence, you can get a garage door professional who can effectively repair any troubles in a garage door Utah homeowners regularly encounter. In no time, your garage door will be functioning like it's brand-new. Learn about garage door security from garages.about.com/od/garagemaintenance/a/garage_door_security.htm.

Wrestling coach accused of sex assault on boy

By Samantha Tata and Lolita Lopez, NBCLosAngeles.com

A wrestling coach in California is wanted in connection with allegations he sexually assaulted a 14-year-old boy, whose mother discovered a YouTube video by another alleged victim urging area parents to "protect their children," according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff?s Department.

Police are searching for 29-year-old Herbert Daniel Ortiz, aka Herbert Ortiz Monroy, of Rosemead, Calif., in connection with the alleged abuse.

Ortiz is described as a Latino man, standing 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. His last known residence was in Baldwin Park, Calif., sheriff?s officials said.

Sheriff?s say the 14-year-old boy told his mother about the alleged abuse after she recognized Ortiz from a YouTube video in which another boy alleged he was victimized by the coach, sheriff?s officials said. When she asked her 14-year-old son if he had been victimized, he told her yes, officials said.

"During follow-up investigation, detectives learned that the suspect had knowledge that the 'Youtube' video had been posted to the internet," sheriff?s officials said in a statement released late Tuesday.

The video was taken down by investigators, the Sheriff's Department said.

Officials say the alleged abuse started when the 14-year-old was befriended by Ortiz,?who?worked as an assistant wrestling coach for Rosemead High School from 2007 to 2009. Since 2010,?Ortiz has worked as a wrestling instructor of the Bad News Panthers Children Wrestling Club in Rosemead.

The club's website,?which was not working?Wednesday morning,?lists him as the founder. He was also listed as coach at a high school in Virginia.

Rosemead City Manager Jeff Allred said Wednesday that Ortiz himself had alerted the city to the video last week and denied the allegations. The city then suspended his participation in the club, which rents city-owned space. Allred said the city was working with the sheriff's department.

Superintendent Nick Salerno of El Monte Union High School District, which runs?Rosemead High, said there had been no allegations against Ortiz during his time as a coach at the campus.?Salerno couldn't comment on why Ortiz left the school but said it had "nothing to do" with "this situation."

Investigators say the alleged crimes occurred in the cities of Rosemead, El Monte and Baldwin Park. They believe Ortiz is intentionally eluding detectives from the Sheriff?s Special Victims Bureau.

Officials are asking anyone with information to contact Special Victims Bureau detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff?s Department.

Astronomers discover 'pigtail' molecular cloud

ScienceDaily (Sep. 5, 2012) ? A research team of the Department of Physics, Keio University, has discovered a molecular cloud with a peculiar helical structure by observation with the NRO 45m Telescope at Nobeyama Radio Observatory (NAOJ), National Astronomical Observatory of Japan.

The team led by Shinji Matsumura, a second year Ph. D. candidate, and Tomoharu Oka, an Associate Professor, named it a "pigtail" molecular cloud from its morphology. The "pigtail" molecular cloud is located in the Galactic center, approximately 30,000 light years away from the solar system. Giant molecular clouds in this region are orbit around the Galactic center along two closed orbits. At the bottom of the pigtail molecular cloud, these two orbits intersect.

The research team analyzed multiple molecular spectral lines in detail. The researchers have revealed that the two giant molecular clouds collide with one another at exactly the bottom of the "pigtail" molecular cloud. These findings suggest that the helical structure of the "pigtail" molecular cloud formed when the two molecular clouds with different orbits frictionally collided and the magnetic tube was twisted.

Background

It is generally thought that helical structure of gas is associated with twisted and coiled magnetic lines. The structure is occasionally observed in astronomical phenomena with magnetic force, such as the solar coronae or the jets related to the super-massive black hole in galactic center. The solar corona is the plasma gas covering the outermost atmosphere of the Sun, and it has an extremely high temperature of approximately one million-degrees Kelvin.

Within a 600-light-year radius from the center of the Galaxy where we live, there is a high density of stars and molecular gas that forms stars. The molecular gas becomes a dense "molecular cloud," and it is thought to move mainly along two elliptical orbits (Note 1) around the Galactic nucleus. These two elliptical orbit groups have a nested structure, and intersect at two points on the Galactic disc. At the intersections, both molecular clouds frequently collide. Researches so far suggest that those collisions between molecular clouds cause gas to be compressed, triggering active star formation. In addition, from previous radio observations, the existence of some radio sources extending perpendicularly from the Galactic disc has been confirmed. That means there is the flux of magnetic lines of approximately one milligauss (Note 2) perpendicular to the Galactic disc. However, the issue of whether the perpendicular magnetic fields exist throughout the Galactic center region (an approximately 600-light-year radius) or only locally has been controversial for a long time.

(Note 1) There is a bar-like structure approximately 12,000 light years long in the Galaxy. Gas moves along two kinds of elliptical orbit groups (the x1 and x2 orbits) extending in both parallel and perpendicular directions along the structure. The x1 is an elliptical orbit extending parallel to the bar-like structure within the Galactic disc, while the x2 elliptical orbit extends perpendicularly to it.

(Note 2) A gauss is a unit of magnetic flux density: a ferrite magnet is several thousand gauss; the geomagnetic field is approximately 0.4 gauss (in the vicinity of Tokyo). One milligauss is one thousandth of a gauss.

Hasegawa, a member of the research team, noticed the existence of a helical molecular cloud when he carefully examined the mass data of 115-GHz rotational spectral lines emitted by carbon monoxide (CO) molecules. The 45m Telescope at Nobeyama Radio Observatory (NRO), NAOJ, acquired the data. The helical structure is approximately 60 light years by 60 light years. Wondering what this was, Hasegawa contacted his co-researcher, Oka, about it. Oka and other team members immediately searched a similar structure in the data taken by ASTE (Atacama Submillimeter Telescope Experiment) covering the same region. Sure enough, they also found the same helical structure in the data of 346-GHz spectral lines emitted by CO molecules. However, the helical structure in that data was not clear. "Therefore, I proposed that we should make additional observations to confirm the existence of the molecular cloud with the helical structure, and to uncover what made this peculiar, helical-structure molecular cloud," said Oka.

After that, they started follow-up observations of the molecular cloud named "pigtail" due to its shape, using the NRO 45m Telescope. Matsumura explained, "In order to solve the mystery of the pigtail molecular cloud, we carried out high-resolution spectroscopic observations of rotational spectral lines for six other molecules. Those molecules are clues to understanding the physical state. "We were amazed by the clear and beautiful helical structure of the "pigtail" molecular cloud in the data taken by the follow-up observation. The data revealed that the pigtail molecular cloud has a huge volume of gas, several hundreds of thousands times greater than the Sun has.

On the other hand, from the analysis of several molecular spectral lines, they learned that the "pigtail" molecular cloud has relatively higher temperature and density [Tk~30 K?n(H2)~103.5 cm-3]. In addition, an increase in the abundance of silicon monoxide, SiO, a molecule which originates from a shock wave, was found. This means that an intense collision occurred in this area. At the bottom of the "pigtail" molecular cloud, two different molecular clouds intersect; one has a radial velocity of -40 kilometers per second, and another one is -110 kilometers per second. At the exact location of the "pigtail" molecular cloud and the intersection, gas functioning as a bridge between the two molecular clouds was detected. "Collecting these observational results and thinking comprehensively, we concluded that the collision of the two giant molecular clouds was deeply involved in the formation of the pigtail molecule cloud," told Matsumura. The research team has proposed the following scenario on how the pigtail molecular cloud was formed.

1) The magnetic tube perpendicular to the Galactic disc exists between two giant molecular clouds. Those clouds move along the main two elliptical orbits around the Galactic nucleus.

2) The magnetic tube is twisted and squeezed to become a helical structure during the frictional contact (Note 3).

3) The molecular gas is captured by the twisted magnetic tube, and then forms the "pigtail" molecular cloud.

The research team estimates that a perpendicular magnetic field of approximately one milligauss can be found locally. The "pigtail" molecular cloud formation is generated by the magnetic field. Theoretically speaking, it is expected that the creation of this type of helical structure would be difficult when magnetic fields extend over the all Galactic central region. In addition, it is estimated that approximately 1.8 million years is necessary for the growth of the "pigtail" molecular cloud. That period is equal to that of the two molecular clouds colliding with each other.

(Note 3) When you twist a straight string between your thumb and index finger, a helical structure is gradually formed. This is quite similar to what has happened in the distant universe at the galactic center.

"We emphasize two important points on our study," said Matsumura, the lead researcher. "First, it proves that two orbit groups caused by the bar-like structure actually intersect at this point in the Galactic center. Second, it shows that the perpendicular magnetic field of approximately one milligauss is locally confined." So far, two other helical structures have been found around the Galactic center. The "pigtail" molecule cloud, however, has a much clearer helical structure than the others. Furthermore, the "pigtail" molecular cloud is an important clue in probing molecular cloud dynamics in the Galactic disc, as well as the structure of magnetic fields, due to its close location to the Galactic disc. Structures related to magnetic field can be found in any kind of astronomical phenomena, ranging from the solar surface to jets related to activity in galactic nucleus. Research on cosmic magnetic fields has significance for understanding the formation of a variety of phenomena in the Universe. The results of this research have provided important findings on the role cosmic magnetic fields play in the Galactic center.

Ronaldo's Madrid teammates surprised he's 'sad'

Associated Press Sports

updated 10:41 a.m. ET Sept. 4, 2012

MADRID (AP) -Cristiano Ronaldo's teammates were surprised to learn their star player is unhappy at Real Madrid, as speculation continued about the Portugal forward's future at the club.

Ronaldo said Sunday he was "sad" for professional reasons he said the club was aware of, but the former world player of the year would not elaborate.

Madrid teammate Alvaro Arbeloa says Ronaldo's statement surprised the team but "we're a family so we have to help him. I don't think money is the problem."

Arbeloa says Ronaldo "doesn't have the problems that the majority of Spaniards do but it's perfectly reasonable that he's sad."

Xabi Alonso says Ronaldo "is how he is."

Ronaldo remained the talking point in Spain as media speculated whether he was referring to contract talks or problems with his teammates.

Leaks accurate, this is what the new iPhone will look like

Leaks accurate, this is what the new iPhone will look like

iMore has learned that recent parts leaks and dummy phones are accurate representations of what the new iPhone (iPhone 5,1) will look like when Apple announces it on September 12, 2012. Almost identical in design to the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, the major visible differences will include a 4-inch display with a 16:9 aspect ratio, a metallic plate across most the back, and a miniaturized Dock connector and relocated 3.5mm headset jack along the bottom.

Apple originally prototyped a 3.5-inch and at least one 4-inch designs for the 2012 iPhone. iLounge accurately reported on one of the 4-inch prototypes back in May. iMore also learned that Apple would decide which prototype to go with sometime in July, and on July 17, the Wall Street Journal reported Apple had begun manufacturing. On July 30, iMore learned Apple had settled on September 12, 2012 for the iPhone 5 announcement event, which has since been confirmed by Apple. iMore has also reported that September 21 will be the U.S. iPhone launch day, with the second wave of launches currently scheduled for on or around October 5.

This information comes from sources who have been reliable in the past. While nothing is confirmed until Apple shows it off on stage, based on the parts, dummies, and other reports, it seems highly probable.

There's too much to cover, so we'll sum up. On February 23, 2012, iMore learned Apple would be miniaturizing the Dock connector for the iPhone 5. On March 23, iMore learned Apple would be including LTE networking in the iPhone 5, as they had the new iPad. On May 11, iMore learned Apple would be trying to remove Google from the iPhone and iOS. On May 29, 9to5Mac posted images of the new, unibody back casing for the iPhone 5. On July 29 and July 30, many of the leaked parts that had been floating around were assembled and shown off in stills and on video.

A fully assembled iPhone 5 chassis was caught on camera on August 31, and a dummy unit, representing near-final hardware, was caught on video at IFA 2012 on September 1.

Conspiracy theories have been floated suggesting Apple is deliberately leaking false parts or a discarded prototype to create a bigger surprise come September 12. If that's the case, they're spending a lot of time, effort, and money, and doing it at an incredible scale. While Apple has over $100 billion in the bank and could do almost anything they want, they don't have any more time than anyone else, and it seems doubtful they'd waste what precious time they do have on on practical joke when there's so much for them still to do on the real product.

Just like last year when we tried to help set expectations before the iPhone 4S event, to the best of our knowledge everyone would be best served going into the September 12 event with their expectations set on the iPhone 5 you see above, and have seen leaked to date.

If anyone doesn't believe Apple would use a similar design to the 2010 iPhone 4 and the 2011 iPhone 4S, go back and look at the 2005 Project Purple prototype. Consider that Apple's current platonic ideal for how their phone should look and be built.

The iPhone design isn't fashion. Jonathan Ive has said repeatedly, it's function. It's iconic. It's a piece of industrial design rooted in Braun and Leica and Dieter Rams that could sit on any museum shelf. It's some of the best manufacturing ever seen in mobile, and it looks as good today as it did in 2005 and in 2010, and as any phone currently on the market. Apple isn't concerned with making the newest looking phone. They're concerned only with making the best phone.

Add a larger screen and a metal back, and shave off a few micro-milimeters from the existing iPhone design, and it would be hard to argue that's not just exactly what they're doing with the iPhone 5.

We'll find out for sure in one week's time.

Google's ?Penguin? Algorithm Redefining Search Engine Optimization

internet marketing? You don?t want the next Penguin update,? was the dire warning Matt Cutts recently sounded off for online marketing companies. Cutts, a search engine optimization (SEO) and spam specialist for Google, was referring to the company?s ever-changed internet search algorithm, currently known as ?Penguin,? which is designed to block out ?black hat? marketing strategies, such as excessive spam, and has put strict compliance in optimizing websites.

Since its release in April 2012, the Penguin has caused a number of sites to drop down in search rankings or even be eradicated from Google?s search engine results due to a number of web spam factors including keyword stuffing, cloaking, unnatural link building and content duplication.

The general goal of these algorithm updates is to better rank and reward web sites that are using ?white hat? search engine optimization. Though Google is ringing an alarm for SEO companies to drop old-fashioned ?black hat? marketing techniques, it is not the end of the online marketing world, in fact, we?re very far from it.

Online SEO business strategies are always changing courses and experienced marketing companies will stay on top of developing trends, serving clients? needs regardless of the latest algorithm update. Below are some current ?white hat? techniques that you or your marketing company should be utilizing to strengthen your business?s online presence.

  • Rich, Meaningful, Readable Content: Website content is one of the most important aspects and should be given serious thought. Adding fresh content on a website will reawaken Google?s search engine bots and, if they find the content to be legitimate, they will rank the site accordingly.
  • Consider Website Theme or Branding: Google?s search engines thoroughly examine the themes of websites to rank them. As a result, it is important to design a web site theme that fits with your business functions or operations.
  • Use Keywords: Keyword density plays an important role that you need to comply with the standards cautiously. While it is important to add keywords in web site content, it is more important to use them properly. Ensure that you do not add keywords forcefully in your content.
  • Staying up-to-date through Social Media: One of the newest elements in SEO is Social media optimization (SMO). If you want to promote a business, it will require a working knowledge on social media websites like Twitter, Facebook, and Google Plus. Constantly updating business events and happenings through these mediums is one of the easiest ways to increase your company?s internet profile.
